Our 30 days are up! The Parkway of Broken Dreams crowdfunding campaign ended Oct. 17 having reached 90% of its goal–a total of $13,609 contributed by 166 amazing people.
Even though we surpassed 80% and got the Green Light, we did not get enough followers to qualify as a finalist in the Hometown Heroes rally. That’s OK. Getting the Green Light means we get all of the pledged funds. (Minus Seed&Spark’s fees, which are minimal.) AND we did attract 331 followers on top of the backers, building a strong community of support for this project. And we’re now eligible for select filmmaking perks through Seed&Spark.
So what happens now? Well, Seed&Spark sends us the money so generously pledged by our supporters. And then we put it to work on finishing this film, with all the right pieces in place. The budget from the campaign includes paying for all sorts of stuff, like:
- Attorney fees
- LLC formation fees
- Taxes (gotta pay the man)
- Production insurance
- Errors & omissions insurance
- Interview travel
- A new workstation for editing and post-production
- Additional footage and music as needed
- Film festival applications
- And more!
This weekend, we’re off to Las Vegas to film a few more interviews and capture more footage. If you want to stay on top of the action, follow along on Facebook or our newly minted Instagram account!
