Seed&Spark crowdfunding campaign is now live!

Seed&Spark video preview

This is it, folks! The official PARKWAY OF BROKEN DREAMS crowdfunding campaign is now LIVE on the film funding/distribution platform Seed&Spark. We have 30 days to raise at least $12,000 and gain 1,000 followers. No problem, right?

Why 1,000 followers? Because PARKWAY OF BROKEN DREAMS is participating in Seed&Spark’s Hometown Heroes rally, in which hometown-centered films who hit those goals become eligible to be executive produced by Duplass Brothers Productions, Salem Street Entertainment, and UnLTD Productions. That means not only additional production funds, but also access to industry connections and filmmaking resources.

The cool thing is, “followers” include all contributors, as well as anyone who clicks “follow” from our campaign page. So, even if you can’t contribute financially, your follows REALLY HELP! And, of course, so do your social media shares. Or nudges to friends in the media. Skywriting is cool, too.

I’ve thoughtfully assembled a collection of cool incentives for everyone who contributes to the campaign, whether it’s $10 or $10,000. Every bit counts! Rewards include digital downloads, DVDs, premiere tickets, retro fliers, production credits, and even a real aluminum Maryland Parkway street sign!

PARKWAY OF BROKEN DREAMS has been a self-funded production to this point, but to take it to the next level, additional funding is needed to get key interviews, to ensure editing and post-production go smoothly, to make sure all of our legal needs are met, and to cover film festival submission fees, among other production expenses.

The world at large knows about the grunge scene in Seattle, the punk scene in New York City, the hard rock scene in L.A., the Manchester rave scene, and the flower-power scene in San Francisco. Now it’s time for them to know about the Maryland Parkway scene in Las Vegas, which was somehow like all of the above, combined into one brief, beautiful–and sometimes tragic–flash of culture, community and diversity that could only exist at that time, in that place.

We truly appreciate your support (and shares!) as we make sure that story gets told. Let the countdown begin!
